Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Bowen Estate Cabernet Sauvignon draws from estate plantings on Coonawarra's famous terra rossa soils. All the vines are hand pruned and arch cane trained – essential for the Bowen Estate style.
The fruit is machine harvested and crushed. Fermentation occurs on skins, with one third of the fruit fermented in new oak barrels.
The wine is pressed and left to settle, then racked from its lees. Malolactic fermentation is carefully monitored. For maturation the wine is transferred to French and Russian oak barrels. After 22 months, it is blended and bottled.
Deep purple, Bowen Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has black fruits at its core with a medium bodied structure and long, fine tannins. Cellaring potential is five years.
